Split LP between unFact (solo bass project of David Wm. Sims (Jesus Lizard/Scratch Acid/Rapeman)) and Noveller (project of Brooklyn based musician Sarah Lipstate).
Using electric bass guitars and an array of effects and looping devices, unFact creates improvised instrumental canvases of noise and melody that encompass fragile shards of memory and harrowing cascades of chthonic fury.
Brooklyn-based guitarscaper, Sarah Lipstate, offers three new recordings of her signature expansive guitar arrangements under her Noveller moniker.
Vinyl LP version of the split will be available on November 23rd. Meanwhile, you can stream the record or buy it via Bandcamp.
In related news – Montreal based TQA Records (named after and related to Thisquietarmy) is producing limited edition splits between various artists (Aural Diptych series). Their most recent release in the series is a collaboration between Noveller and unFact, which includes two single tracks from each artist and one track that they recorded together. You can stream/buy the record via TQA’s Bandcamp page.
ADS05 features two of the hottest names in the U.S. ambient scene today: Noveller & unFact. Noveller is Sarah Lipstate from Brooklyn NY – one-time member of Parts & Labor and Coldcave. unFact is David Wm. Sims from NYC, the bassist for the legendary noise rock band The Jesus Lizard.
On their US tour together last summer, they stopped by at CKUT 90.FMin Montreal to perform both solo & collaborative sets on the program New Shit, hosted by Lorrie Edmonds. The performance was recorded by Joe Winer & Andy White, and produced by Andrea-Jane Cornell. Special thanks to CKUT for letting us use the recording for this release, which was made available just in time for Noveller & unFact’s European tour this fall, with none other than Aidan Baker.
