As the title states, “The First Time I Heard…” is a compilation of stories on musical inspiration, as told by the likes of Lou Rhodes (Lamb), Sam Rosenthal (Black Tape For A Blue Girl), Emma Anderson/Miki Berenyi (Lush) and many others.
Series are edited by the acclaimed novelist Scott Heim (Mysterious Skin) and so far there were five installments:

The First Time I Heard The Smiths – featuring Craig Wedren (Shudder To Think), Andrew Kenny (American Analog Set), Lou Rhodes (Lamb) and others.
The First Time I Heard Kate Bush – featuring Ryan Newmyer (A Sunny Day in Glasgow), Louise Rutkowski (Hope Blister, This Mortal Coil) and others.
Future editions will include books on Kraftwerk, My Bloody Valentine and Pixies.
