Claire Rousay – wouldn’t have to hurt (American Dreams) / Surprise! New @clairerousay album “wouldn’t have to hurt” out now, but you can only hear in full with purchase. Tapes ship immediately. A musing on mental health, the album has all profits going to @TrevorProject, but claire can talk more about that – Jordan Reyes
Frank Bretschneider and Giorgio Li Calzi — Zero Mambo (Umor Rex) / On the one hand, we have the Berlin-based musician, composer, and video artist Frank Bretschneider, recognized for precise sound placement, complex, interwoven rhythm structures, and his minimal, flowing approach. On the other hand, Giorgio Li Calzi, the Italian trumpeter, composer, producer, and performing director based in Turin, whose work is known for electronic/effects improvisation combined with the trumpet.
Drowse – Wane Into It / The new Drowse track is beautiful. Damn. Really lovely – Michael Pementel
Listening Recommendations
Waste Of Space Orchestra – Syntheosis / Been obsessing over this album (again) recently: Waste Of Space Orchestra – Syntheosis (2019) – a Roadburn-commissioned collaboration between Oranssi Pazuzu and Dark Buddha Rising. A blackened prog/psychedelic doom masterpiece that I’m lucky to have on LP – Nervous Curtains
Stephanie Merchak – Impacts, Reflections and Feedback (Arell) (h/t Feminatronic)
