Listed below are some of the new releases for April, according to Brainwashed / Adequacy.net websites

Agoraphobic Nosebleed – Agorapocalypse CD (Relapse)

Agoraphobic Nosebleed’s raging three vocalist onslaught is taken to new heights of aggression, as the infamous grind of previous efforts has been melded with the savagery of early speed metal and hardcore. Agorapocalypse is the epitome of 21st century grindcore!

Antony & The Jonhsons – Epilepsy Is Dancing 7″ (Secretly Canadian)

Video for a song from the Crying Light LP

Ape School – S/T CD (Counter Records)

A swamp-ape from panhandle Florida, Michael Johnson arrived in Philadelphia to teach music technology at a downtown arts university. There he made a discovery with which he would create the Ape School. Hidden away in a corner of the school was the fourth Moog Modular synthesizer that Robert Moog ever made, forty years earlier in 1965. Michael dusted it off, fixed it up, then set about recording songs which would go far beyond his prior tenures in Kurt Heasley’s Lilys and SubPop’s Holopaw….

Assemble Head In Sunburst Sound – When Sweet Sleep Returned CD (Tee Pee Records)

San Francisco’s Assemble Head in Sunburst Sound is a soundtrack for strange days and futures bright and bleak. But there is also a crooked thread that runs backward through every Assemble Head record—the celestial trajectories of The Notorious Byrd Brothers and circa ‘70 Floyd; the dusty canyon stomps of Crazy Horse, slashing action pop of the savage young Who, Italian bastardizations of Lalo Schifrin cop movie scores, and the scuzz-bomb shrapnel of latter-day garage mongers like Mudhoney and Monoshock.

Arcade Fire – Miroir Noir DVD (Merge Records)

“Miroir Noir” follows Arcade Fire through the making and touring of their 2007 album “Neon Bible,” documenting the band in the studio, and the making of promotional films and videos. Also features live footage and a few short films made on the road. Directed by Vincent Morisset, who was responsible for the interactive video for the song “Neon Bible” and for the band’s web design.

Big Pink – Velvet 7″ (4AD)

4AD debut from The Big Pink, who take the current obsession with all things MBV and JAMC that little bit further than so many of their peers, conjuring up a sound that’s both brutal and emotive. Gallons of noise flood the production, but al the spillage from guitars and electronics somehow holds itself into harmonically cogent shapes, preserving ‘Velvet’s epic melody nicely.

Bell Orchestre – As Seen Through Windows CD (Arts & Crafts)

Black Dice – Repo CD (Paw Tracks)

REPO is the fifth album by Black Dice. The Brooklyn, NY-based trio has never worked harder at crafting a set of concise, sonically battering, or flat-out bizarre tunes than on this collection of fringe-surfing tone bombs. Yet a new roadhouse blues-band philosophy has simultaneously emerged, allowing the group to loosen up and toss off a record packed with blurry hooks and zoomed-in riffs as casually as a grizzled denizen of roadside dives might spew out aural alchemy in-between a few brews.

Black Math Horseman – Wyllt CD (Tee Pee)

Bob Mould – Life And Times CD (Anti- / Epitaph)
