One last roundup of new music from March! See part 1 here and part 2 here.
Marker – New Industries (Audiographic Records)
Marker includes Andrew Clinkman and Steve Marquette on guitar, Macie Stewart on violin & keyboard, Phil Sudderberg on drums, along with Ken Vandermark on tenor, baritone, and Bb clarinet. Their third album, New Industries, is a double CD comprised of studio and live versions of a dozen new compositions by Vandermark.
Flying Luttenbachers – Shattered Dimension (ugEXPLODE)
The Flying Luttenbachers’ “Shattered Dimension” is the first offering by the seminal cult band since 2007. The current New York City based version of the group on this recording features stalwart leader and primary composer Weasel Walter on drums, saxophonist Matt Nelson (GRID, Elder Ones), bass guitarist Tim Dahl (Child Abuse, Lydia Lunch) and guitarist Brandon Seabrook.
Ex Hex – It’s Real (Merge Records)
Ex Hex is a power trio hailing from Washington, DC, making the music you’ve been waiting for. Drums, bass, guitar, P90s, searing leads—this is unapologetic rock ’n’ roll spat out in the discipline’s mother tongue.
Tanya Tagaq – Toothsayer (Six Shooter Records)
The title track from Tanya Tagaq’s upcoming EP, Toothsayer, available March 1 on Six Shooter Records.
Anni Hogan – Lost in Blue (Cold Spring)
Lost In Blue’ is the brand new album from ANNI HOGAN (Marc & The Mambas, The Willing Sinners, La Magia). An astounding, attentive work on an emotive shared journey. Songs in despair searching for hope, moments of monumental horror, and outpouring screams of consciousness. A poignant, bleak album for these times.
USA/Mexico – Matamoros (Riot Season / 12XU)
Butthole Surfers drummer gets super-heavy with a couple other weirdos. black vinyl matters and so do black cowboys – Heddbuzz via Bandcamp
Garcia Peoples – Natural Facts (Beyond Beyond is Beyond)
Consider Natural Facts by Garcia Peoples to be your heady, friendly reminder that it’s alright to let the sunshine in. The second album in less than a year from those lovable New Jersey moptops with the sweet twin guitars, Natural Facts provides a portal to the carefree place that both indie rock and jam bands forgot, and a handy alternative to whatever you may need an alternative from. Bolstering the summer glow of 2018’s Cosmic Cash with flashes of fuzz, teeth, and power, Natural Facts is a natural progression for Garcia Peoples.
The Glorious Rebellion – Scholars of War (Sludgelord Records)
CRT – CRT “CS2” (Dka Records)
DKA is proud to welcome CRT to the label. The solo project of one Michael Keenan (MPKJR), CRT is no stranger to the stages of Atlanta. MPKJR has been heavily involved in the Atlanta underground for well over a decade. CRT is Michael’s foray into modular electronics that blends together a well-versed mix of Industrial, Techno, and EBM with echos of raw punk. Sparse dead pan vocals mix blown out kicks and angular metallic noise to create a harsh 80’s-tinted acid-drenched landscape.

Stephen Shiell – Sonance (Linear Obsessional)
Linear Obsessional presents the debut album by sound artist, composer, sculptor and field recordist Stephen Shiell.
“Sonance” consists of three equal length pieces – each a diverting exploration of place, and added human interaction. All three are absorbing and enveloping constructions, that sustain a strangely moving and powerful atmosphere.
Lower Slaughter – Some Things Take Work (Box Records)
a parade of big fucking riffs followed by big fucking breakdowns. – Loud and Quiet
Nicholas Langley & Dark Half – Rebel Convoy (Spun Out of Control)
On March 29th… Prepare to #REBEL! 😎🔥
