New Music
Time Rival – And suddenly the world we once knew had been cast in shadows / Texturally complex & genre fluid music for the frustrations of today & the hope for a better tomorrow
Six Eight – Emperors Of Pain EP / I’ve seen quite a few #Fallfriday posts and it reminds me of supporting the great band at The Town and Country Club, London, just over 30 years ago. Twas such an honour and humbling experience. Here’s what we’re up to now – Cormac Stokes
Gunn – Truscinski Duo – Flam (3 Lobed) (h/t Melvin Peña)
Société Étrange – Au Revoir / Really enjoying this album. Kosmische music with a twist – Transmitter Down
Bicycle Deck – Telepathic Table Games / Lo-fi recording. Ambient with some minimal beats. Psych improv, but with a bit of goth flair. All synth, all the time.
Daniel Bachman – Where The Tide Ebbs And Flows / Really happy to be releasing my Tompkins Square records material under a new title “Where The Tide Ebbs And Flows” with all bandcamp sales going to the Madison County African American Historical Association (MCAAHA)
Echoes of Light – Getting Things Started / Ambient Drone/Ambient Techno, looking back into the past, moving forward on a brighter path
Frog Eyes – The Open Up (h/t Jennifer Kelly)
SUMAC and Moor Mother – The Film (h/t Letters From A Tapehead)
Billy Malm – SPÄTZLE (Strategic Tape Reserve) / Eurodance/IDM/Drone
Ironic Hill – SUMMER / NEW TAPE! SUMMER was recorded during the summer of 2024. It consists of four MOVEMENTS, each made up of three VIGNETTES, which capture the essence of the season (laid back, languid, dreamy, etc.) underpinned by a nagging sense of unease
VA – Staying: Leaving Records Aid to Artists Impacted by the Los Angeles Wildfires (h/t Drip Hamilton)
VA – For LA Vol.1 / This is a good thing: a 33 track comp of previously unreleased ambient, electronic and modern classical tracks, to directly support frontline relief and recovery organisations working with people affected by the Californian wildfires – Folk Police Recordings
