Back in Business! // Dispatches from the Underground – July 2023, Pt. 1

im-back

It’s been a long time (Long time)
We shouldn’t have left you (Left you)
Without a dope beat to step to
Step to, step to, step to (Step)

Unfortunately we did left – due to unforeseen circumstances that had something to do with a certain uberrich South African man running one of the world’s biggest social media. Namely @iheartnoise account appears to be stuck in an eternal recovery limbo with little chance of getting out of purgatory.

Fret not, however – IHN is still alive and kicking through a backup account Pixel Deep. As Ozzy once sang “You can’t kill rock and roll  / its here to stay” and we’re here to bring the proof.

Things of importance – our side

Skyjelly put out Spirit Guide EP – comparisons to both My Life in the Bush of Ghosts and 90s U2 abound. There’s two videos (Laisse Jeyedin Jeden / What Have You Done) + a excellent mix that features music by Horse Jumper of Love, Dumb Numbers/Melvins, Dirty Projectors, Black Duck, rootless and many more!

Finally, after a long wait, the footage is up of Solilians playing Havurah, part of the festival of Jewish music that also featured such greats as guitarist Eli Winter. You may remember them from split vinyl with Skyjelly that we put out few years ago as well as American Klezmische EP, both songs from which ended up in Havurah performance. And if you don’t we highly recommend listening to either one (or better yet – both).

Last, but not least – there’s footage of recent live street performances by a creative twin duo of Cryostasium and Petridisch! Petridisch also got a new record out entitled Extrait on Bulgarian label Mahorka.
