“Spacegaze” is a very fitting description for the music that this California trio (comprised of former/current members of Slaughter and the Dogs and Warlocks) creates. Apparently Vast Asteroid liked the term so much that they even wrote a song with that title!
Much like “Spacegaze” (the song), “Encrypted” comes from their self-titled LP which was released last year. Take a drop of MBV, add a hint of Hum, soak it all heavily in fuzz and reverb and you just might get the trippy mixture that VA were going for on this track.
The video for “Encrypted” features plenty of live shots of the band playing Harvard & Stone in LA and was directed by Christian Stephen.
