Recap of some of the interviews you might’ve missed! We’ll also catch up on new and upcoming releases by all interviewees…strap in!

Chip King (The Body) – interviewed by Grant Hobson

You’ll like Osaka. They call it the Kitchen of Japan. It has more restaurants per capita. They are all good. Didn’t have one bad meal. I love it. It takes me out, there are elements of familiarity, even passing through the UK, the cultural stuff. In Japan, it’s different. You don’t have those similarities. This tour, this is the newest place I’ve been. I’ve not been to Birmingham before. This is our first Supersonic. We get one night here then we’re off to Glasgow or Sheffield. It’s not far. I can get some sausage rolls, you know, all the English greats.

Upcoming Album: The Body – The Crying Out of Things (Thrill Jockey) Nov 8, 2024

The Asteroid No.4 – interviewed by IHN

The Byrds are arguably our biggest influence. And that is not only because of how much we particularly love their music, but that they were essentially the blueprint for every band to follow that are also our influences, and early REM included. The Byrds were quite possibly the first “shoegaze” band in that they weren’t about any stage theatrics or virtuoso-level playing, they were dark in image, but emotionally driven in song. It’s hard to imagine a My Bloody Valentine or Slowdive without the Byrds and that includes hair styles. We have many influences and they’re too many to mention. Immediate responses are those mentioned above, The Church, House of Love, Catherine Wheel, Moose, The Kinks, Echo and The Bunnymen, The Chameleons, The Stone Roses….

New Album: Several Shapes Of Solar Flares (Little Cloud Records / Club AC30) – September 27, 2024

Odd Nosdam – interviewed by IHN

My studio mates & I were thrown out of our studios back in January by corporate fucks who can’t wait to continue gentrifying Berkeley… these terrible people are basically turning the west side of Berkeley into one giant condo while so many folks are living – i.e. surviving – in RVs, vans, tents, gutters… it is what it is… the capitalist American dream I suppose

New Album: False Hood (Glue Moon Records) – April 27, 2024
