Chrome Peeler is a relatively new label based in Butler, New Jersey. So far they produced two volumes an ongoing series of compilations called “You’ve Got Your Orders” , one album by Boston band Thee Electric Bastards and a number of splits and DVDs.
“You’ve Got Your Orders” series are based on titles that label head Jason Ziemniak came up with and each musician featured on compilation comes up on with a track based on a particular title. So far, compilations included tracks by the likes of Hella, Thurston Moore (Sonic Youth), Johnette Napolitano (Concrete Blonde), Bliss Blood (Pain Teens), Vaz, Nikki Sudden (Swell Maps), Stephen Brodsky (Cave In) and many others.
Their more recent release is a live CD by Boston band Thee Electric Bastard (produced by Stephen Brodsky from Cave In). The band’s sound is described as falling “somewhere in among Syd Barrett era Pink Floyd, the Zeppelin end of the White Stripes catalogue (but only if it was scored by an Elephant Six band), and Yoshimi-type Flaming Lips.”
