Nov. 19 Show Flyer
Certain artists have a knack for being brilliantly enigmatic, and Boston’s Senseless Optimism is one of them.
The moniker of singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Brittany Tsewole fuses together an abundance of styles. There are multiple elements being in play, and they all follow a distinct cohesive flow.
This approach has made Tsewole a must-see talent on the scene, perhaps even one of the shining lights of Boston music this decade.
As Fixx once proclaimed – one thing leads to another. In our case the thing was the video that Rick “Skyjelly” Jones sent my way awhile ago. Further inspection revealed that the said video was by Senseless Optimism (aka Brittany Tsewole), musician local to Mass who can sing and play instruments quite well – excellent and a rare combo these days.
Stars aligned further when Kendraplex asked if IHN hosts shows and I couldn’t resist saying “yes”. Fast forward to Nov. 19 and all three aforementioned acts ended up sharing the bill at State Park in Cambridge. Bam!
Up for your enjoyment, then – a couple of songs from the said set captured by Hsiu Chang. Once you’re done watching those I heartily recommend looking up Senseless Optimism on Youtube, Bandcamp and anywhere else, subscribing to her channel, spreading the word etc etc etc
