Exclusive Premiere – Leopard Print Taser – Teeth Are Not Bones EP

While riot grrl movement is primarily associated with the 90s, its influence is still very much palpable today. Case in point – Teeth Are Not Bones, latest release from Boston quartet Leopard Print Taser. Anyone that grew up on a diet of Huggy Bear, Babes in Toyland, Hole et al will get a massive kick out of this little EP.

While they call their own genre “dream punk”, Leopard Print Taser is clearly more on the punk side of things – while TANB does have some slower moments they mostly serve as a reminder that there’s plenty of thrashing and smashing ahead. On top of that there’s Leila Bower’s vocals that alternate between manic yelps and throaty/raspy howl – part Karen O, part Courtney Love. The overall effect is very much a metaphorical kick in the teeth, just as EP title promised.
Initially released as a tape, TANB is now getting a vinyl treatment from Tor Johnson Records and we’re premiering a remastered/remixed version of the EP:
