Music Interviews
Last year our team traveled all the way from Boston to North Carolina’s Hopscotch Fest and one of the people we had luck interviewing and introducing ourselves to was Shane Parish. As his website notes, Shane is a guitarist and a long-time resident of Asheville, NC.
We were taken by both dark intimacy of Shane’s solo work (out on Tzadik and Cabin Floor Esoterica, among other labels) and the raw, blasting power of Ahleuchatistas, a duo Shane is in with drummer Ryan Oslance (Blind Thorns, Mistresses).
Now there’s this mini-documentary we invite everyone to watch – it was filmed one rainy day in 2017 by Courtney Chappell, a visual artist/photographer based in North Carolina. Think of it as visual expansion on excellent guitar lessons that Shane offers via his Twitter account (exhibit A and exhibit B) – a free gift to everyone struggling with both guitar playing and being creative.
