Handing over the mic to artists/musicians who break down their new albums track by track/share the thought process behind the creation. Today we’ll hear from  Urlo, lead vocalist, bass and synth player in Ufomammut. Songs of Embrace is the latest album from his solo project THE MON.

The tracks of Songs Of Embrace are nothing more than a breath, a suspended moment that emerged after finishing Songs Of Abandon
I felt that something was missing and I needed to fill that emptiness.
The tracks were written slowly, one after another, in the order they appear on the record, as a natural continuation and sonic evolution.

Songs Of Embrace is a request for time, for listening, for vibration
It is the urgency to dig into ourselves in search of comfort
The album unfolds like a suite, gradually taking shape until its final note, which echoes the initial sound from which everything was born

Invocation Of The Abyss

This is the opening of the album, the point from which everything originated
It begins with a glitch, from which the fire of the album rises like a phoenix
The track is suspended, slowly growing and emerging from the depths of the mind
A call, an invocation to seek outside what we cannot contain within ourselves

Three Nails, One Heart

Here everything explodes
The core of the album becomes clear and the three nails of Songs Of Abandon appear driven into the heart
It is a cry, a call after the ascent from the abyss

Incantation

Calm returns
This track acts as a bridge to the previous album
A repeating guitar pattern slowly unfolds like a spell through reverbs and layered sounds, opening the path into the album’s inner journey

The Sigil

Once again everything explodes as the sigil appears, marking the direction of this album
The Sigil moves slowly and darkly, melancholic yet powerful
It reopens the abyss and guides us toward the center of ourselves

A Pearlescent Pulse Of Light

A Pearlescent Pulse Of Light is a small piano movement drifting through time, listening to a beating heart before slowly fading away
Amid distant noises it speaks of a bond, a light that breathes, expands, and transforms
It is the most fragile and melancholic track on the record
For me it carries a deep meaning as it speaks of a creature immensely close to my heart

Ritual Of Night Violence

Ritual Of Night Violence is one of the central tracks and unfolds like a ritual
A passage where anger is not released outward, but gathered, held, and slowly transformed
Violence here is not an act but a condition that circulates, inhabits bodies, and persists beyond those who carry it
The only path to salvation is inward, a fragile and minimal sound like a buried music box that reactivates memory and interrupts the cycle

Sovereign Of Silence

Here we rise again observing death and the fragility in which we all wait
This track is a memory of someone who disappeared suddenly, leaving behind so much and continuing to exist even in their absence
It is a sovereign of silence, a bridge between essence and absence
A moment in life when we stand at the edge of the abyss to look into the void where sooner or later we will all fall

Embers Of Calendula

Calendula, the symbol of the album, represents suffering and pain, but also loyalty, resilience, and the continuous flow of time
Its embers sound like mysterious chimes, distant notes slowly drawing closer and merging into a single enigmatic pulse
It is a bridge between pain and the life that continues, like a flower that blooms even in the coldest seasons, connecting this track to the album’s beating heart

Echoes Of The Drowned

The final stretch of the journey
Like the song of a siren, distant echoes sink into the embrace of time
I imagined this track as a storm, a ship at the mercy of the waves with distant voices calling sailors into the unknown

Embrace The Abandon

The final movement of the album
Here everything blends together, theremin notes, distant whispers, the bubbling of the sea slowly calming
And everything fades as it began
