Review – The Young Mothers – Morose

There’s music you like to listen to when you’re out on a walk, and then there is WALKING MUSIC. Music that seems to stand on its own legs without a care in the world as to whether or not you’re actually around. These tunes push through the general public and press on their own mission of intergalactic peace. We’re talking Space Madness. We’re talking Field Reporting; homegrown and on the scene. The Young Mothers are here to bring you the news and the weather.
Coming in like a hurricane of winds and rain, The Young Mothers bring you Morose. 10 tracks of blasting cap jazz and understanding. The opening track Attica Black will blow the roof off your house before you have the chance to sit back down. Francisco is my favorite track so far. It’s the fourth song on the album and its pure city lights at night; pushing through night walking mistakes. Osaka is the eighth track and there’s an underlying energy that I missed the first time I listened to it. Osaka’s static cling to this earth will be eternal in the right hands.
Don’t be a putz. Do yourself a kindness and pick up Morose by The Young Mothers. If you don’t like it, you can bring it over to my house and I’ll tell you how you’re wrong. Idiot.
