Review // Taras Bulba – Sometimes the Night

Words: Doomsayer2001

Have you ever considered that in an alternate universe, they write a soundtrack first and then create a movie, or various scenes around the music? Sometimes The Night by Taras Bulba would thrive in that universe.

Cinematic at its heart and flawless in its delivery. I contrived all sorts of scenes in my minds eye with each track. Visions of acid induced hallucinations, noir cutscenes, lost and being chased through an ocean side forest, not connected to one another, but rather compiled into short clips, complete with an opening score and a credits score.

The music is full of psych goodness, with each track setting it’s own stage, preparing the listener for an absolute thing of beauty and awe. And with what is presented to your ears, the mind races, imagining all sorts of scenes, but the scenes in my head won’t be the ones in yours. Give ear and check out this album. You won’t be disappointed. And create your own movie to this soundtrack quality set of sounds.
