Providence (and currently Brooklyn) based Fang Island are going to kick off their tour today. Formed in 2005 by the students of Rhode Island School of Design, the band includes guitarist Nick Sadler, who also plays with Daughters. FI’s self-titled debut album was just released by Sargent House label and it got all sorts of praises from the likes of Pitchfork and Absolute Punk. In addition to numerous solo dates, the band is going to play number of dates as an opening act for Flaming Lips.
