Matt DeMello is a composer and songwriter based in Peekskill, NY. Originally from the suburbs of Providence, RI he grew up on a healthy diet of showtunes, hip-hop, and prog rock bands. His first performances were with community theater ensembles, which soon became noise and math rock basement shows.
Back in 2020 we premiered a video for So Uh…Thanks for Stopping By from NY singer/songwriter Matt DeMello. Confetti in a Coalmine, the LP this song appears on, is now getting a massive deluxe edition – details below!

For the ‘Full Length Visual Album’ on YouTube, listeners will delight in live-in-studio alternate versions of stand-out album tracks like “Sunshine” and “Don’t Mind if I Do!” For streaming listeners, the second and third discs of Confetti in a Coalmine: Deluxe Edition for Streaming are a veritable greatest hits of studio outtakes and Bandcamp rarities across the seven year period of 2015-2022 of writing and recording the original album. The Canaries for the Cauldron.. Bandcamp B-Sides collection digs deeper into the vault showcasing as-yet unreleased Broken Social Scene and Frank Zappa covers. Finally, the Bandcamp-only LP Live at Green Kill: 2023-4 showcases me performing in my elements with full backing tracks over some of the most experimental tracks of my entire discography, not to mention a variation on William Basinski’s Disintegration Loops with avant-garde guitarist Federico Balducci.
