Bob Mould In The News – July '12 – Sugar Boxset, New Solo Album, Copper Blue Live

Husker WHO?
As Color Me Obsessed documentary demonstrates, Bob Mould is still not ready to reconcile with Grant and Greg (though you can also point to Andrew Earles book on Du as an earlier proof of the same theory. Bob refused to be interviewed for the book, perhaps saving some of the tastier/nastier bits for his autobiography See A Little Light).
His relationship with his post-Du outfit Sugar, then, is tad warmer, as Bob recently gave a green light to Merge when they considered releasing a boxset of the band’s work.
Said boxset hit the shelves on July 24 and includes all three of the band’s original albums (Copper Blue, Beaster and File Under: Easy Listening), plus a plethora of live material (one is a 1992 show at Metro Chicago and the other one is a reissue of a 1995 limited-edition set called The Joke Is Always On Us, Sometimes – Live at First Avenue, Minneapolis, Minnesota, November 2, 1994).
You can read more at ArtCetera and/or The Second Disc. You can also check out a short promo clip here.
