End of the Year Favorite Albums Label Mixes
With a name like Death Plaza one could expect some horror punk or old school death metal, but this young label’s output have nothing to do with either genre. You can say that much of their production is rooted in vaporwave (yes, the dreaded V word), but its also varied enough to be far removed from cliches/stereotypes often associated with that genre.
DP first caught our eye when they released AM to PM by our associate Petridisch and as this mix will (hopefully) demonstrate there’s a lot to discover in their back catalog. As is often the case with vaporwave-oriented labels, there’s a lot of mysteries to uncover – are they really based in Japan? What is it with strange and ungooglable names like Death tm? We may never know the answers, but we will let the music speak for itself!
