Twink – Dust Bunny

Dust Bunny was inspired by a long Winter and historic blizzard that buried the land as well as moods. How else to keep spirits up than by making music?

A melancholic vibe winds through the album but never extinguishes the hope that Spring will one day return. Bells, chimes, xylophones, and a collection of rusty toys add warm textures over chilly synths and cold mechanical beats. Darkness and light cycle like the seasons in these songs, ending with a lullaby and a gentle thaw. Crickets chirp, petals bloom, and hibernating creatures shake off the blanket of snow for another year.

“Dust Bunny” is the latest LP from Twink – the toy piano band of Mike Langlie.

Recorded during a brutal New England winter of 2014, it features Mike’s signature blend of electronics, hip-hop beats and cartoony quirkiness – think Adult Swim meets Warp Records!
Much like all of Twink’s output, “Dust Bunny” can be appreciated by adults and kids alike (and kids at heart too) – no song sounds alike and the sheer amount of moods and textures featured on the album is simply astounding. It also comes along with a fantastic artwork courtesy of Kate O’Hara.
There’s also an IndieGoGo campaign for the album that runs until the end of September 2015!
