Cascade Riot “New Disguise” , a review before my lunch break by Abbi Cadaver

Let’s start off by prefacing idk how to write reviews , my opinion prolly doesn’t matter , but I need to kill 20 minutes till lunch and I’m Famished , so as a distraction Here We Go !

I listened to Cascade Riots new album “New Disguise” from start to finish while strategically avoiding work calls and sipping Dr Peppys . What stood out to me immediately was the quality , like these people sound put together and profesh! Gave me flashbacks of mid 2000’s edgy hard rock radio stations in the best way possible.

The Vocals hit hard and strong as if Buckcherry, The Foo Fighters , and Puddle of Mudd had a 3 way voice baby that grew up to be Cascade Riot. As I was searching for a specific set of lyrics the band had set a hunt out for, I noted some memorable things about some of their songs. “Exit 55” has a banger breakdown that I love
“Rubys” bass line was so ripping , I made the “bass face”

I was going to just write about how sick the bass runs were in Ruby but upon speculation Every Song had a rippin bass line. On that note all the insteamwnts played off each other so perfectly , letting one another shine and blossom thru, the entire album was very cohesive. Unlike these next few lines.

“Time Machine” was so good I listened to it two weeks ago 326 times and you should too! There’s a bridge in “maybe tomorrow” I’d like to dub the “Metallica bridge “ with its crushing guitar solo and stompy drums felt like the classics. Speaking of Stompy “Conversation” gets your head banging and flows right into one of my favorites “Cellophone” that punches you in the guts right outta the gate , and you smile and say “thank you”.

The album closes out with “Surfin On Fire” This song left me was some amazing visuals and I didn’t even have to take any mid day drugs to get them ! Also there’s some screams at the end and I’m always a sucker for the heavy

All in all an amazing work of art ! Highly recommend checking out ! I think my fav song is “Ruby” (I just like yelling RUUUBBYYY”). Anywho adhd and side conversation aside , it’s one minute passed my lunch so MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!
