Turkish Delight were a staple of the Boston underground music scene from 1994-1998 and their eclectic sound and always exciting live shows were an incredible blend of art rock, experimental madness and noise.
We’re talking all things Howcha Magowcha – reissue of a second and final album by Boston post-punk/no wave crew Turkish Delight, originally released by Archenemy Records back in 1998! Last year’s reissue of Tommy Bell, TD’s debut, sold out in a month and was featured on Bandcamp Daily.
The band also played a packed reunion show at the Middle East club – see our video playlist for footage! Included within is a video review by Celebuton (aka Mario Epstein), our frequent contributor and creator of Tunesday video series:
Another thing worth mentioning – Dave Allison’s label Custom Made Music is putting out Live Shows and Demos 94-98, a double cassette set of odds-n-ends from Turkish Delight. Dave also brought it to our attention that “Faster”, movie by Marie Ullrich, used Colt Li Vas by TD:
