Band: Dot Dash! (France)
Song: Spoiler
Taken from: Retired at 45

If their name wasn’t enough of a giveaway (hint: its got something to do with UK art-punks Wire), this French trio plays catchy post-punk in the vein of aforementioned Wire and Mission of Burma.
Nothing new here, perhaps, but well done, memorable and good enough for a couple of spins, at least.

Band: Screamfeeder (Australia)
Song: Summertime
Album: Kitten Licks Deluxe

While it may be true that there are already tons of songs written about this particular season that we’re in (case in point – “Celebrated Summer“), this one is something special. It comes from Australian trio Screamfeeder, which, much like Pixies and Husker Du before them, explores the outer limits of both quiet and loud.

Band: The Party Of Helicopters (US)
Song: Free Junk
Album: Space…And How Sweet It Was

Intense cut with Sabbath-y riff in the center. Taken from this veteran Kent, Ohio band’s 2002 Space…And How Sweet It Was collection.
