You've Got Your Orders Vol. 1

The idea was a simple one,” says Chrome Peeler’s founder Jason Ziemniak. “Contact the musicians in my record collection and ask them if they’d write a song if I gave them a song title.” As a result, Mike Watt, Sonic Youth’s Thurston Moore and Thalia Ferriera team up for “Like a Ghost on Fire,” Mudhoney’s Mark Arm delivers “Coke Limo” and Concrete Blonde’s Johnette Napolitano contributes “Memory of A Liar.”

2003 compilation You’ve Got Your Orders, Vol. 1 marked a lot of “firsts” – it was the first release for New York label Chrome Peeler as well as the first compilation appearance for Twink the Toy Piano Band (aka Mike Langlie)!  You’ve Got Your Orders series was based around the idea of artists writing songs based on titles provided by the label and Twink injects a serious amount of eclecticism/quirkiness into the mix:

Aside from Twink, the compilation features more great material from Hella, Bliss Blood, Nels Cline, Thurston Moore, Mike Watt, Johnette Napolitano, House of Low Culture and many others!
